I made candied almonds & walnuts using this recipe.
And I tweaked the recipe a little, my changes are in the bold.
-I roasted the almonds & walnuts @ 450 degree F for about 10 minutes. Once everything else is bought to a boil, add the nuts. Cook and stir the mixture until the liquid evaporates and leaves a syrup-like coating on the nuts
Yum Nom Noms!!

Shrug
Mommy just suggested that I’ve loss weight.
I’m just like
Wait, what?, WHEN did I lose weight?
She said “I’m losing my butt”
Wait! Say what now. When did I ever have much of a butt? I have plenty hips and thighs. But it always depends on the jeans ( or the form of whatever bottom) whether I have a butt.
I haven’t lost a thing. I think its because of the loose clothes I wear around the house.
In the back of my head, what she said was meant as compliment. One that I can’t accept. As much as I fake the funk, I have body issues. I’m going to work them out.
In time

Oooh my neck :-X
I slept the wrong way. Now I have a kink in my neck.
It would be a amazing if I had a nice chocolate man around. If its not asking for too much, he would be blessed with a nice set of strong and gifted hands. To rub that kink out.
Sigh* I digress
I can dream, right?
Insert witty gif.

'); } -->Kai’s “controversial” poem. This topic I can definitely relate to as someone who was told in high school that I “act white” because I got straight A’s, and in college, “I thought you were stupid until you spoke” because I’m black. (Had to compress it all crazy to get it to upload to Tumblr. It had to be removed from “other outlets” due to verbal content. But what happens on Tumblr, stays on Tumblr.) … ;-)

To the girl who sits in the back corner of the classroom
Ears closed, nose in a book, eyes barely looking up over the brim
You will not go unnoticed
There willbe a second glance from those who
Wish they had just the chance to see those lips part
To expose hearts that skip a beat at the moment
When you show teeth, and acknowledge the presence of a worthy human being
For once, your kind eyes and greeting won’t be passed off as
Just another cheap meeting, leading to a creep finding you to be sexual pleasing
You will just be inquired on the book you’re always reading
And he will be genuine, a gentleman whose touch is just as gentle and
Bring you back to a place where you felt feminine, to be just a girl again
Not to feel lesser than, but without having to fight a battle with men
Able to let your guard down and draw back your sword of curse words
Put down the shield of insults, undo armor used to mask insecurities
And will be accepted for who you are naturally.
Actually, perceptions will be altered drastically.
The ability to trust will eventually resurface, loneliness will recede
Along with initial expectations of people for which some will exceed
And then finally, you will begin to breathe, smile and breathe
But for now, it’s the back corner of the classroom
Where the books never mislead

So I wanted to re-read Jill Scott’s poetry book. Hence my earlier post of Pocket Size #5 by Jill Scott from that book. But I couldn’t find it, at the time.
In my search for my book I found:
After I rearranged just about everything in my room. I found my book, in the last possible place.
